Workshop Terms & Conditions
The terms that apply when we work on your vehicle or supply parts.
We've written this in plain English so it's easy to follow. If anything is unclear, or you'd like a copy, contact us at contact@ngc-hybrid.co.uk and we'll be happy to help.
About these terms
These terms apply when you book work or buy parts from NGC Hybrid & EV Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15301784, VAT number 510829311). They sit alongside your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and do not affect them.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, services we provide must be carried out with reasonable care and skill, and goods we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
Estimates and quotes
Verbal or written estimates given before inspection are based on the information you provide and are indicative only.
A firm quote is provided in writing after diagnostic inspection. Work proceeds only once you have approved the quote.
If additional faults are discovered during work, we will pause and contact you for approval before incurring extra cost.
Diagnostic fees
A diagnostic fee may apply where investigation is required to produce a quote. The fee is agreed with you before work begins.
Where you proceed with the recommended repair, the diagnostic fee may be credited against the repair cost at our discretion.
Parts and labour
We fit new, tested reconditioned or OEM-grade parts as agreed in the quote. The grade of each part is stated on your receipt.
Labour is charged at our published hourly rate unless a fixed-price job is agreed in advance.
Replaced parts are disposed of in accordance with WEEE and battery-recycling regulations unless you ask in writing for them to be returned at the time of booking.
We are a registered waste carrier (registration CBDL618771), so old batteries and components are handled and recycled lawfully.
Warranty
Hybrid traction-battery repairs and reconditioning carry a written warranty stated on your receipt. Typical cover is 12 months / 12,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Warranty cover requires the vehicle to be serviced in line with manufacturer recommendations and any aftercare advice we provide.
Warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, modification, misuse, fitting by a third party, or unrelated faults.
Parts supplied without fitting carry the manufacturer's warranty only.
Customer property and storage
Vehicles and parts left with us are stored at the owner's risk. We carry insurance appropriate to a working garage; this does not cover items of unusual value left inside the vehicle.
Once we notify you that work is complete, free storage is provided for 7 days. Storage charges may apply after this period at our published daily rate.
If a vehicle is uncollected for more than 28 days and you have not been in contact, we may exercise our right of sale under the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977 to recover our costs. Your old battery pack may be subject to a disposal fee, based on current rates of Li-Ion commercial recycling costs at the time of repair/replacement.
Payment
Payment is due on completion of work, before the vehicle is released, unless agreed otherwise in writing.
We accept bank transfer, debit card and major credit cards. Cheques are not accepted.
We reserve our common-law lien on any vehicle in our possession until our charges have been paid in full.
Cancellations and missed appointments
Please give at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange a booking so we can offer the slot to another customer.
A fee may apply to repeated late cancellations or no-shows; we will tell you in advance if this applies to your booking.
Where you book at a distance (online or by phone), you may have a 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you ask us to start work within that period, you agree we may do so, and if you then cancel you will pay for work already carried out. The cancellation right does not apply once a service has been fully performed, or to parts made or ordered to your specification.
Complaints
If something is not right, please contact us as soon as possible at contact@ngc-hybrid.co.uk or 01473 561230 and we will work with you to put it right.
If we cannot agree a resolution, you may have rights to refer the matter to The Motor Ombudsman or a small-claims court.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
